Hello!
We conducted interviews with TAKUMINO Group employees.
This time, we are interviewing employees who belong to TAKUMINO Holdings.

1. Nice to meet you, please introduce yourself.
nice to meet you.
My name is Tien. I came to Japan from Vietnam.
After coming to Japan, I attended Japanese language school and university, and then joined TAKUMINO Holdings as a new graduate.
As of 2022, Japan is in its seventh year.
My hobbies are going to live music concerts, karaoke, and watching movies.

2.What kind of work do you currently do?
I joined TAKUMINO Holdings Co., Ltd. and work in the human resources department. I majored in information media at university, so I was worried whether it would be useful for me when I got a job at a construction company.
In fact, I was assigned to the Human Resources Department and am in charge of creating English and Vietnamese courses for the in-house university system, as well as operating and managing the system itself. I am also in charge of hiring foreigners for group companies, making use of my language skills, which is my strength.

3.What made you come to Japan?
I decided to do this after consulting with my parents because I wanted to live on my own right after graduating from high school and wanted to experience foreign culture. At the time, I was having trouble deciding between Canada and Australia, but I also learned that my cousin's sister was studying abroad in Japan, and that she was glad to have come to Japan, and that I had always loved Japanese anime since I was a child. I had been watching a lot of manga, so I decided to go to Japan.

After completing my studies in Japan and graduating from university, I debated whether to return to Vietnam and get a job, or stay in Japan and get a job, and I chose the latter. Japan has a well-developed infrastructure, and I thought I could learn a lot by working at such a company, so I thought that the experience I gained there might be able to contribute something when I return to Vietnam in the future.

4.What was difficult or difficult about working in Japan?
When I started working at a Japanese company, I felt that it was completely different from the part-time job I had in college.
I felt that in a Japanese company, there are many opportunities to use honorific language, and that being punctual is very important. As a foreigner myself, I found honorific language really difficult. However, when I consulted with my Japanese senior colleague, he advised me that even if I am not good at honorific language, if I can speak politely, I will have a good impression of Mr. Tien, so I should be careful about that. .
Since then, when I have a problem, I can consider talking to everyone at work instead of worrying about it alone.
There are still some aspects of Japanese that I find difficult, such as phrases and nuances, but I want to become even better because I have the support of the members around me.

5.Please tell us your impressions of living in Japan.
It was really difficult at first. I wasn't used to living in a foreign land, I wasn't good at Japanese, and I didn't have any friends or family, so I thought I had to do everything myself. However, I was surprised and happy that Japan is really safe and I can walk around safely even at night.
Also, I feel that Japanese people have great manners, as I feel when I ride the subway. In addition, the food is delicious and there are many things I like.
It snows in winter, but I will never forget the excitement I felt when I saw it for the first time. I got excited and played like a child by diving into the snow and building a snowman.

6. Please tell us about the company you belong to.
Our company is a holding company (headquartered in Tokyo) that actively carries out M&A and has grouped multiple construction companies across Japan.
Our group companies include civil engineering construction companies with extensive experience in bridge maintenance work, foundation construction companies active around the world, and construction companies that manufacture steel frames used in high-rise buildings and airports.
The company has a solid employee training system, and I also participated in group-wide new employee training and new employee follow-up training, and became friends with members of group companies. Additionally, since I work in the head office, I have many opportunities to travel to group companies, and I have visited many places I have never been before.

7. What is the best thing about joining the TAKUMINO group?
When I was job hunting, I felt that the welfare benefits were much better than other companies.
Also, all the employees are very kind. When I joined the company, I didn't know anything and started from scratch, so I made a lot of mistakes, but my boss and seniors kindly taught me, and I'm very grateful for that.

8. What is important to you in your work?
In my work, I value ``Ho Len So''. I learned about Ho Len Sou during new employee training shortly after joining the company. We believe that teamwork is important in work, but without reporting, communication, and consultation, teamwork cannot be demonstrated. In order to avoid becoming complacent, I try to consult my superiors and co-workers about even the smallest things.
I also try to take measures to avoid making the same mistakes.

9. Please give a message to foreigners aiming to find employment in Japan.
If you have time before coming to Japan, please study Japanese as much as possible. I think it's very important because it makes life and work easier.
Living alone in a far away foreign country can be very lonely and life can be difficult, but please rest assured. Japan has a lot of really kind people and is a very safe country to live in.

If you like Japan and want to work there, you will find that the environment is much better than you imagined when you come to Japan.
If you have the desire to work in Japan, please come work with us at TAKUMINO Group!

Thank you for your cooperation today. Please do your best to become the leader of the TAKUMINO Group!
